Why tvusage was removed and restored by Google Playstore?

Dear tvusage Users,

We have some important news to share regarding recent developments with our app. On April 20, 2024, we experienced an unexpected setback: Google Playstore removed tvusage from its platform. This action was taken due to a compliance issue concerning user consent for the collection and usage of the installed apps list.

We want to be transparent with you about what happened. While we had declared our data collection practices in the app's manifest and completed all necessary policy forms, we inadvertently missed a crucial step: obtaining explicit consent from users regarding the collection and usage of their installed apps list. This requirement was not explicitly stated in tvusage's privacy policy at the time.

Upon discovering this oversight, we took immediate action. On April 21, 2024, we updated our privacy policy and released an update to tvusage, including a new app screen specifically designed to request user consent for the collection and usage of the installed apps list. We understand the importance of user privacy and are committed to ensuring that our practices align with the highest standards of transparency and consent.

We are pleased to announce that Google has reviewed and approved the update, and as of April 23, 2024, tvusage has been successfully restored to the Google Playstore.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve this issue. Your trust and support mean everything to us, and we are fully committed to earning and maintaining it.

Moving forward, we will continue to prioritize user privacy and compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. We value your feedback and encourage you to reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have.

Thank you for being a part of the tvusage community.

Sincerely,

Bala
